Howard Gladstone Short Bio

Howard Gladstone is a Canadian (Toronto-based) singer/songwriter, working in the modern folk & troubador tradition.

” Songs are my preferred method of expression. For me, lyric and melody matters. Performance and expression count. Music makes a difference when it speaks directly to the emotion and intellect. That’s what I’m trying to do.”

Howard Gladstone released his fourth album “Roots and Rain” in January 2010.

Gladstone is a convincing solo performer. He also appears in duo with guitar virtuoso Tony Quarrington, or violinist Shelley Coopersmith. He is currently on hiatus, recovering from a spinal cord injury.

Howard co-founded & produced the Toronto City Roots Festival for 7 years from 2004-2010, as well as four annual concerts at Hugh’s Room, and a monthly concert series at the famous Cameron House.
