January 22

Joanne Crabtree
(with Paul Mills)

Joanne Crabtree is a veteran of the 1960’s folk revival and appeared with many notables of that era (ie. Martin Carthy). Her new album "All the Good Times" was produced by Paul Mills (aka Curly Boy Stubbs), who will accompany Joanne on guitar. Joanne Crabtree’s music has been acclaimed by talents as diverse as David Francey and John Cleese!

Jory Nash

Jory Nash is an award-winning songwriter, guitarist, and singer with three independently released albums; "Lo-Fi Northern Blues" was released in 2002. Jory has toured extensively throughout North America. Jory is also the co-producer (with Aengus Finnan) of the recent successful "Tribute to Gordon Lightfoot" at Hugh’s Room., in which he also performed

Suzie Vinnick

Suzie Vinnick is a wonderful singer, both as a solo and ensemble performer, with a range from blues to ballads. Her two solo albums "Angel on the Sidelines" and "33 Stars" are sensitive and touching musical treasures. Suzie is also part of other musical incarnations such as Betty and the Bobs, and VHS (Vinnick Hart Sheppard). Suzie was named  "Female Vocalist of the Year"  in January 2004 at the Canadian Maple Blues award.

February 26

Alise Marlane

A rising songwriter from Wakefield, Quebec, Alise Marlane has just released her first album, " Stillness Hold On" in January 2004. Lovely guitar work, melodic songs, and moody atmosphere.  Alise is appearing here in one of her first Toronto appearances.

David Leask

David Leask is originally from Scotland, now resident in Toronto. His brand of Celtic pop/country/ roots music explores and bridges the gap between the influences of Scotland and Canada. His latest CD, released in 2003 is "Tightrope of Dreams." He has been nominated for a Juno, and his music has received wide radio play.

Likewater

Likewater consists of Jennifer Claveau (vocals, guitar) and Eric Newby (guitar). Powerful songwriting, Jennifer’s striking vocal presence, catchy melodies, and Eric’s tasteful guitar playing make Likewater immensely likeable. Likewater’s first CD is to be released shortly. Jennifer hosts the popular Groovy Mondays Open Stage.

March 25

Cheryl (Cher) Neill

Cher Neill is coming from Montreal for this performance. She bring a strong women’s perspective to her quirky, interesting songs, She describes herself as "Part storyteller, singer and spoken word artist"

Mo Kauffey

Mo Kauffey has released 5 independent CDs of blues and ballads, that have received international airplay. His latest release is "Whatcha Gonna Do". Mo keeps his audience entertained, smiling, and happy.

Lynn Harrison

Lynn Harrison recently released her second album "Learning Curve" to wide radio play and favourable reviews. A polished singer and guitarist, Lynn’s songs "capture moments in the lives of ordinary people and bring them to life."

April 29

David Gillis

David Gillis is a guitar virtuoso (endorsed by Don Ross) with great song writing and singing talent. His album is titled "When You’ve Got A Dream.", and includes a flamenco instrumental version of Spiderman.

Linda Saslove

Linda Saslove writes sensitive songs dealing with relationships and emotions, in an honest and moving way. A lovely singer with no artifice, Linda Saslove touches her audience.

James Gordon

James Gordon is a Canadian legend, having released more than 30 albums, including several with groundbreaking trio Tamarack. His songs have been recorded by many notable artists. James Gordon is currently signed to Borealis Records, and has recently released a 2-CD retrospective called "Mining for Gold." 

May 27

Evalyn Parry

Evalyn Parry’s goal is music with revolution in mind. Her CD "Unreasonable" has the award winning song "The Stone and The Bumblebee". Evalyn Parry combines spoken word, poetry, music, with a powerful presentation. A unique creative artist, Evalyn Parry is not to be missed.

Ian North

Image-laden lyrics, evocative music, soulful singing, and powerful rhythmic guitar playing, all describe Ian North’s style. An eclectic layering of sound combining folk, blues, traditional are evident in the songs on his album "Emptiful"

Ben Sures

Ben Sures, from Alberta, has released 4 CDs, and is a powerful guitar player and singer. To the question "What does being a singer/songwriter mean to you? Ben replied: "It's what I am, it's all I've ever wanted to be; I like to write, sing and perform songs. When I'm touring, I feel right. The road is my home."

Tom Savage (with Vanessa Longul)

Tom Savage hails from Kingston Ontario. His second self-produced album is "Brand of Sympathy." For this performance he is accompanied by flautist Vanessa Longul, with whom he has toured extensively .

Ryan Schneider

Ryan Schneider is a 19-year old singer/songwriter and multi-talented instrumentalist. Busy touring with his band, as well as studying music at Humber College, Ryan Schneider is a talent to watch.

Peter Verity

 

Peter Verity’s album "High Flyer " has been called a "polished gem of confident, classic songwriting and solid heartfelt performance". Accompanying himself with guitar and harmonica, Peter’s has a warm appealing voice.  His song "Northern Ontario" won 2nd prize in the 2004 John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Howard Gladstone released his first album "Sunflowers Light The Room"  in 2002.   His second release, "Candles on the River" is scheduled for 2004.
